REEM

REEM is a prototype humanoid robot built by PAL Robotics in Spain. It is a 1.70 m high humanoid robot with 22 degrees of freedom, with a mobile base with wheels, allowing it to move at 4 km/hour. The upper part of the robot consists of a torso with a touch screen, two motorized arms, which give it a high degree of expression, and a head, which is also motorized. REEM-A and REEM-B are the first and second prototypes of humanoid robots created by PAL Robotics. REEM-B can recognize, grasp and lift objects and walk by itself, avoiding obstacles through simultaneous localization and mapping. Hideto Tomabechi (苫米地 英人, Tomabechi Hideto; born 1959) is a Japanese cognitive scientist who is an adjunct fellow at Carnegie Mellon University and has had an executive role in several companies. == Early life and education == He grew up in Minato-ku, Tokyo. He graduated from Komaba Toho High School and then joined the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received his first degree from Sophia University, then joined Mitsubishi Real Estate. Tomabechi was a Fulbright Scholar at Yale University and became member of Yale University Artificial Intelligence Research Center and Yale Cognitive Science Program. Hideto Tomabechi's research topic was: Cognition Models for Language Expressions and Computational Methods (Tomabechi Algorithm). Hideto Tomabechi received his Ph.D. in the field of computational linguistics from Carnegie Mellon University. Leo Breiman

Leo Breiman (January 27, 1928 – July 5, 2005) was an American statistician at the University of California, Berkeley and a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences. Breiman's work helped to bridge the gap between statistics and computer science, particularly in the field of machine learning. His most important contributions were his work on classification and regression trees and ensembles of trees fit to bootstrap samples. Bootstrap aggregation was given the name bagging by Breiman.
